JARDIN ALBECQ

A forest garden for social activities born to protect a natural space from being cemented for a building project. Part of the network "Occupons Le Terrain".

Their strategy to access the land has first been to create a citizen movement and campaign against the housing development planned on the land. Through this process they collectively envisioned other possibilities and eventually decided to create a cooperative to buy the land and take it out of the speculative market.

For now, although they have not been able to buy it, they have been successful at deterring the development plans, so the city has agreed to keep the space green and public.
